This is the sandwich I paired up with my Roasted Heirloom Tomato Soup when Kimi was over.
Kimi came over for dinner last night. And to make things easy for myself in the kitchen, I made a pot of soup and sandwiches as our meal. I saw some nicely ripe heirloom tomatoes at the market so I decided to make roasted heirloom tomato soup and turkey cheese sandwich with fig chutney. The sandwich was a nice dunker for my soup.
I just got out of a nice hot bath and was craving for something cold and refreshing to drink. I had froze some cantaloupe and had some orange juice on hand. A smoothie sounds pretty good about now.
A while back, I bought a jar of Roasted Garlic Onion & Fig Jam. I used it in everything I could think of. Sandwiches, salad dressings, quick pan sauces, and on my cheese platters. The jam is long gone so I was inspired to make an at-home version. Since figs are in season —why not?
I love the smell of baked goods in the oven. I noticed I had some crumbled goat cheese leftover from a dinner party so I decided to make good use of it along with some beer in the fridge. Enjoy!
