I just got out of a nice hot bath and was craving for something cold and refreshing to drink. I had froze some cantaloupe and had some orange juice on hand. A smoothie sounds pretty good about now.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of fresh frozen cantaloupe, peeled seeded and cubed
- 1 cup of orange juice
- 1/4 cup of plain nonfat yogurt
- 1/8 teaspoon of ground cinnamon plus extra for sprinkling
- a drizzle of honey
Preparation:
Take your fresh cubed cantaloupe and freeze them overnight.
In a blender, combine cantaloupe, orange juice, yogurt, cinnamon and honey. Blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and serve.
This smoothie was pretty refreshing. It was sweet but not overly sweet (I think the cantaloupe used was pretty ripe). I never would have thought of sprinkling some cinnamon on top, that gave it a little more dimension in flavor.
I’m glad you liked it. 🙂
That looks incredible, thank you so much for sharing this. I’m printing it to try soon.
Thanks for stopping by! If you do try it –let me know how it turns out.
I love cantaloupe- never thought of putting it in my smoothies!
Add a little rum and you have yourself a daiquiri –cheers! 🙂
