7 random things about myself:

  1. Foie gras is my favorite  food.  I like it seared with a compote of some sort, or a fruit reduction, or both on the side served with toast points or brioche.  I’m horribly bummed that it’s banned
    in California.
  2. The best meal I ever had was at my wedding dinner reception at The Dining Room in San Francisco.  Ron Siegel was the executive chef at the time.  It was an eight course meal comprised of Blue Fin Tuna Sashimi, Abalone, Turbot, Lobster, Foie Gras, Suckling Pig, Kobe Beef, and my wedding cake. It cost an arm and a leg but it was so worth it!
  3. I’m a coffee snob.  I used to roast my own coffee beans at home.  But the smell of roasting coffee beans got too much
    so I stopped.
  4. Aside from liking to eat chicken brains and enjoying it, I also enjoy eating intestines, tendons, tongues and kidneys.  I draw the line at eating animal feet, butts or genital parts (I hear this is something people eat in Asia).
  5. I’m a big white wine fan.  My favorite winemaker is Cakebread out in Napa Valley.
  6. I recently witnessed two squirrels doing it in my patio while I was having my morning coffee.
  7. Milk chocolate or dark? I’m a big fan of milk chocolate. Not so  much on the dark chocolate.  However, I do enjoy using dark chocolate in my baking.

And whew –that’s it!

  1. Congratulations Anne! You absolutely deserve it! Your facts were so fun to read! I love that you roasted your own beans – that is hard core! 🙂 What do you think of Blue Bottle?

    • Thank you! Blue Bottle coffee is a bit pretentious for my taste but good coffee. I usually support local smaller coffee makers. The Beanery is one –there’s a location on Irving Street. Cole’s Coffee is also good but they’re out in the East Bay.
