About

Thanks for stopping by!

My name is Anne and I’m a homemaker.  I wasn’t always a homemaker.  In fact, I used to work full-time in the marketing operations field.  It took me 12 years to realize that I hated the rat race, so I quit.  I started to cook, bake, and give myself projects in the kitchen during my time-off.  My husband Chris (who has been my biggest supporter), M and E encouraged me to start a blog as a way to document and index my work in the kitchen.

Why Uni Homemaker?
My nephew and nieces call me Aunty Uni and they’re the only ones that can.  The name derived over 20 years ago when E’s co-worker (at a Japanese restaurant) accidentally called me Uni.  For some reason, when it’s Ann spelled with an “e” —a lot of people think it’s Annie.  Uni was a name I allowed my nephew to call me when he started to speak.  My sister Kimi thought it would be easier for him.
