Thanks for stopping by!

My name is Anne and I’m a homemaker.  I wasn’t always a homemaker.  In fact, I used to work full-time in the marketing operations field.  It took me 12 years to realize that I hated the rat race, so I quit.  I started to cook, bake, and give myself projects in the kitchen during my time-off.  My husband Chris (who has been my biggest supporter), M and E encouraged me to start a blog as a way to document and index my work in the kitchen.

Why Uni Homemaker?
My nephew and nieces call me Aunty Uni and they’re the only ones that can.  The name derived over 20 years ago when E’s co-worker (at a Japanese restaurant) accidentally called me Uni.  For some reason, when it’s Ann spelled with an “e” —a lot of people think it’s Annie.  Uni was a name I allowed my nephew to call me when he started to speak.  My sister Kimi thought it would be easier for him.

  7. Dear Anne,
It’s refreshing to meet someone who actually realises that there is inherent value and beauty not to mention an expression of love in “being a homemaker”. I fully applaud the fact that you turned your back on the “rat race” and are now doing something that brings you a sense of peace and joy. Sounds like you have a loving and supporting husband.
God bless you and your family.
