I originally was going to call this a breakfast cake but was worried no one would buy this as a breakfast cake since it’s full of candy. I suppose if you want it for breakfast, you could. Chris and I certainly did munch on this for breakfast with our coffee and it was delicious!

Pumpkin Espresso Chocolate Chip Bread
A few weeks ago, Chris and I splurged and bought ourselves a one-touch espresso machine. We’ve had our Starbucks Barista machine for over 10 years and thought it was time to retire it. It was a great machine but it was manual and cumbersome. Technology has come a long way. Now you can make a great espresso drink with a touch of a button! What used to be a 20-minute process to make a latte now only takes a couple minutes!
Nutella Swirl Chocolate Chip Blondies
I think I have found a new love. And that’s these blondies. They may look ordinary but they taste extraordinary! You’ll know what I’m talking about once you sink your teeth into these. And you can’t just stop at one.
Apple Biscoff Streusel Bread
I can’t remember the last time I baked with apples. It must have been about a year ago. So today’s recipe is an apple recipe (duh!) with Biscoff. Who doesn’t love Biscoff? If you haven’t tried Biscoff, I urge you to hurry up and get yourself a jar. You can get it on Amazon, Target or Cost Plus World Market, to name a few. It’s fantastic in baking, on toast, or you can just eat it straight from the jar. I currently have 5 jars in my pantry, that’s how much I love it.
Pumpkin Ale Peanut Butter Cup Blondies
Good morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Well, my home is finally company-ready. Or should I say ready for my mother-in-law? I spent a good part of the weekend cleaning and cooking. I’m exhausted! I wish someone would cook and clean for me!
Garlic Chipotle Muffins with Scallions Cheddar & Bacon
My mother-in-law is engaged! This is her third marriage and I hope it’ll be a happily ever after for her. Chris and I have been together for almost 15 years and it has been a wonderful and blissful union. I hope she finds the same with her new fiancé. She sounded really happy over the phone about being engaged to a man she has known for 20 years. I’m happy that she’s happy. She deserves it. She’ll be visiting us with her new fiancé next Tuesday. I know, odd day but they’re only in town for a day. This means I’ll be cleaning the house this weekend.
Lemon Mascarpone Coffee Cake
Last week, I got bitten by a spider. I don’t even know how it happened. A section of my arm swelled up like a silver dollar. It was nasty! It itched and throbbed all at the same time. I had to constantly wash the punctured area before applying my ointment. It was just unpleasant. The swelling finally went down a couple of days ago but there’s a bruise-like discoloration. Eeeeeew! That was my excitement for last week.
Bacon and Cheddar Cornbread
I generally prefer to bake from scratch. But on those days when you don’t have the time to be bothered with measuring, these baking mixes sure come in handy! I love Trader Joe’s baking mixes. They never have those hydrogenated soybean oil or any preservatives in their mixes. With this particular baking mix, they also have corn kernels, which is nice because it actually gave the cornbread more texture and flavor.
Banana Chocolate Cinnamon Snack Cake
I came across Laurie’s recipe for a Banana Snack Cake over at A Taste of Morning. I knew I wanted to make this cake the second I had overly brown bananas. I’m always looking for new ways to bake with bananas and I have to say, I think this maybe a new favorite!
Savory Ham Cheese and Olive Cake
A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned in this post that I would publish a recipe for a Savory Ham Cheese and Olive Cake. I completely forgot and realized yesterday that this recipe was still in draft mode. Ack! So here it is…
