This dish was prepared in honor of Nelson’s Birthday. Since Chris and I are a bit cash-poor these days (just bought the house), I thought it would be more economical to wine and dine him at home. This stew was inspired from a Cioppino I had at a restaurant. The Cioppino was a bit hearty for my taste but I thought it would be more appropriate to call it a stew. Served with crusty bread, it really hits the spot on a cold winter night.
There is a tiny little Korean deli I used to order my lunch from back when I was working. And every Tuesday, their lunch special is Pajeon. Since I left my job, I’ve been craving this dish so badly that I decided to make my own version of it at home. I have to say it’s pretty close to the ones I used to get at the deli or any Korean restaurants. Enjoy!
Over the weekend I was craving for some seafood stew. I didn’t care that it was stew-inappropriate weather. I’m one of those people that can eat soups and stews regardless how hot it is outside, as long as I’m craving it —I’m having it. There’s a local bakery that makes AMAZING breads —got a French baguette to go with the meal. It was heaven!
